A young man in a repressive time hears a legend of a so-called “fountain of youth,” a spring of water having the power to give eternal life to those who drink from it. Most laugh at this, pass it off as a bedtime story, and continue to lead lives of pessimism and despair. However, the young man, inspired by the legend and prospect of eternal life, is moved to seek it.
